Executive
The Executive is a dedicated team, committed to serving the greater good of the Club members. These people are responsible for ensuring that the Club operates in a professional manner, and they do this through planning, at regular meetings, and by their attendance at all Club functions. In addition to their individual duties, the Executive also have a representative at every class held.

Executive Positions

President: The president is responsible for calling and chairing meetings, calling elections and by-elections, maintaining volunteer statistics, protecting Club assets, and is the principal contact for the dance professionals.

Vice President: The vice president is responsible for obtaining facilities for all events, acting as president when required, insuring Club assets, organizing registration, recording teaching assistant's attendance, and assisting with the Club database.

Treasurer: The treasurer is responsible for compiling financial statements and ensuring that financial liabilities are met, receiving and depositing funds, maintaining adequate accounting records, and preparing operating budgets.

Secretary: The secretary is responsible for recording the minutes of meetings, managing all written and electronic correspondence, telephone queries, maintaining Club policies, schedules, and manuals, and preparing mail outs and newsletters.

Promotional Director: The promotional director is responsible for advertising, organizing promotional dance teams and group or solo performances, communicating with the general public, the merchant discount program, and facilitating the annual survey.

Social Director: The social director is responsible for arranging and co-ordinating Club dances, arranging and co-ordinating volunteer functions, and co-ordinating TA practises and workshops.

Directors at Large: The four directors at large are responsible for assisting with music and equipment for events and demos, and for co-ordinating practise and workshop sessions and the supplies needed, as well as performing other duties as needed.

The Current Executive


Michael Wiebe
President Michael became president in May 2008 and will hold this position until April 2012. He has been with the Club for 15 years, and in this time has served as a Teaching Assistant or Club Instructor for 13 years. Mike's love of dancing and his desire to see the Club succeed enhances his contribution to the Board.
Sandra Hosler - Vice President
Sandra took over this position in March 2008 and will hold this position until April 2013. She has been with the Club for 9 years. This is her first experience in volunteering with the Club, but she brings with her the knowledge gained in 20 years of serving on the Board for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.

Wayne Orr - Secretary
Wayne has been with the Club for 3 years and in that time he has also served on the Executive as a Director at Large. He was appointed as Secretary and then elected to the position by acclamation in April 2011. He will serve until April 2013. Wayne also holds an MBA and is a CMA; in addition to his business experience, he also brings over 20 years of committee work, some on Provincial Boards, to the table.
Bob Wood - Promotional Director
Bob has been with the club since 2008 and was acclaimed Promotional Director in May 2011. He will hold this position until April 2013. He has served as a TA, as a Promotions Committee member and as a Director at Large. Bob is focused on leveraging his Business Development skills honed in business ownership & corporate roles and from serving on For Profit & Charitable Boards. His desired outcomes are to help grow the club, focus on best practices and opportunity creation, while having fun serving the board and membership.
Mary Hatch - Social Director
Mary was elected as Social Director in May 2011 and will hold this position until May 2012. She has been a Club member for over 2 years. An Event Coordinator by profession, Mary brings several years of working experience to the Executive.
Woody Hamilton - Director at Large
Woody was elected in May of 2009 and will hold this position until April 2012. He has been a Club member on and off for the last 9 years, and has served as a Teaching Assistant and Club Instructor. Woody has been formally trained at Arthur Murray and has served on numerous boards of clubs and fraternal organizations.
Marinko Pavic - Director at Large
Paul Varro - Director at Large
Paul was elected by acclamation in April of 2011 and will serve as a Director at Large until April 2013. He has been with the Club for about seven years and may become a TA this year. Paul's strong entrepreneurial spirit and his business acumen will contribute to the Club's growth and to updating our information systems.
Pamela Mann- Director at Large
Pam has served as a Director at Large since Oct. 2010. Her term ends in 2012. She has been a member of the club for about 15 years and a TA for more than 10. Pam is keen to promote the club and hopes to use her experience and skills to make dancing a pleasant and joyful experience for all.
